《学会关心》内容简介

　　《学会关心：教育的另一种模式》是美国著名教育哲学家内尔·诺丁斯在关心伦理与教育方面的一本经典著作。原书初版于1992年，作者对人们长期以来信奉的教育理念提出了反思，主张关心应成为教育的基础和核心。进入21世纪，在美国的教育环境下，对关心的强调更加边缘化，诺丁斯再次认真审视现实，于2005年推出《学会关心》第二版。

　　诺丁斯主张对传统学校教育进行彻底改革，学校必须充分重视学生发展的多样性，建立一个充满关心而不是竞争的环境，对学生的各种兴趣和才能予以开发和培养。围绕这一主旨，书中详尽阐述了学校的主要目的是教育学生学会关心——关心自己，关心身边最亲近的人，关心与自己有各种关系的人，关心与自己没有关系的人，关心动物、植物和自然环境，关心人类制造出来的物品，以及关心知识和学问。

　　作者简介

　　内尔·诺丁斯（1929-2022），当代著名关怀伦理学家，当代世界德育论坛的巨匠。曾任美国斯坦福大学教授、美国教育哲学协会和约翰·杜威研究协会主席，以及美国国家教育学会主席。哈佛大学杰出妇女教育贡献奖和美国教育研究协会终身成就奖获得者。

　　诺丁斯曾经在美国公立学校任职十五年，先后从事教学、行政和课程开发工作。曾担任新泽西州中学数学教研部主任，芝加哥大学杜威实验学校和斯坦福大学教育学院院长。在斯坦福大学时期三次获得优秀教学奖。

"Learn to Care" content introduction

Learning to Care: An Alternative Model of Education is a classic work on caring ethics and education by Nell Noddings, a famous American educational philosopher. First published in 1992, the author rethinks long-held beliefs about education, arguing that caring should be the foundation and core of education. In the 21st century, when the emphasis on caring became more marginal in the educational environment of the United States, Noddings took another hard look at reality and launched the second edition of Learning to Care in 2005.

Noddings advocates a radical reform of traditional school education, in which schools must pay sufficient attention to the diversity of student development, establish a caring rather than competitive environment, and develop and nurture students' various interests and talents. Around this theme, the book elaborates that the primary purpose of school is to educate students to care - to care for themselves, to care for those closest to them, to care for those who have various relationships with them, to care for those who have no relationship with them, to care for animals, plants and the natural environment, to care for human-made objects, and to care for knowledge and learning.

About the author

Nell Noddings (1929-2022) is a famous contemporary caring ethicist and a giant of the contemporary world moral Education Forum. He has been a professor at Stanford University, president of the American Society for the Philosophy of Education and the John Dewey Research Society, and president of the National Education Association. Recipient of the Harvard University Award for Outstanding Contributions to Women's Education and the American Educational Research Association Lifetime Achievement Award.

Nordins has worked in American public schools for 15 years in teaching, administration, and curriculum development. He has served as director of secondary Mathematics at the State of New Jersey and dean of the Dewey Experimental School at the University of Chicago and the Stanford School of Education. He received three outstanding teaching awards at Stanford University.
