《在北大阅读现代》内容简介

　　北大原汁原味文学讨论课，重新发现现代文学的问题空间，辨析和阐发何谓“现代中国”。

　　这些年来我们之所以重新探讨过去研究过的对象，是因为我们又重新发现了它们鲜活的现实感和内在的生命力，而且发现原来很多问题都有待引入更加宏大的研究视野。这就是我们学科的当下性或现实性之所在。——吴晓东

　　本书是在吴晓东老师组织的北大现代文学专业研究生读书会讨论稿的基础上整理而成。讨论的对象主要是1940年代的中国现代文学作品。参与者从文本细读入手，结合原始报刊材料以及文本发表的历史语境，探索和发现40年代新的问题空间，从中具体辨析和阐发何谓“现代”，何谓“现代中国”等议题，进而辐射出对20世纪中国乃至当下现实的一些重大问题的思考。讨论的对象偶尔也兼及1949年后尤其是当下的文学作品和热门影视作品，从中可见现代文学专业的研究生们是如何把思考的触须延伸至当代领域的。参与者在进入文本发生的历史语境的同时，也力图引入相关的理论阐释，逐渐形成了“文本•历史•理论”三位一体的方法论视野，因此也选取了相关西方经典理论著作进行研讨。

　　书稿尽可能保留原汁原味，保留参与者思考和进入各自话题的过程性，保留讨论的现场感和“氛围气”，以期如实反映新一代中文学科的学子们如何细读文本、如何选择各自的切入视角，进而如何在细读文本的基础上思考和生发属于自己的学术问题的鲜活历程。

　　吴晓东，黑龙江省勃利县人。1984年至1994年于北京大学中文系读书，获博士学位。现为北京大学中文系教授，北京大学博雅特聘教授，教育部“长江学者”特聘教授，北京大学学术委员会委员，北京大学人文学部副主任，北京大学中文系学术委员会主任。

"Reading modern in Peking University" content introduction

The Original Literature Discussion course of Peking University rediscovers the problem space of modern literature, discriminates and elucidates what is "modern China".

Over the years, we have revisited the objects we have studied in the past because we have rediscovered their vivid reality and inner vitality, and found that many problems need to be introduced to a larger perspective. This is where the current or reality of our discipline lies. -- Wu Xiaodong

This book is organized on the basis of the discussion draft of the Peking University Modern Literature graduate student Reading Club organized by Mr. Wu Xiaodong. The object of discussion is mainly the modern Chinese literary works of the 1940s. Participants began with a close reading of the text, combined with the original newspaper materials and the historical context in which the text was published, explored and discovered the new problem space of the 1940s, from which they specifically analyzed and explained what was "modern" and what was "modern China" and other issues, and then radiated the reflection on some major issues of China in the 20th century and even the current reality. The objects of discussion occasionally include the literature works after 1949, especially the popular film and television works, which shows how the graduate students of modern literature extend the tentacles of thinking to the contemporary field. While entering the historical context of the text, participants also tried to introduce relevant theoretical explanations, and gradually formed a methodological vision of the trinity of "text, history and theory", so they also selected relevant Western classical theoretical works for discussion.

The manuscript should retain the original flavor as much as possible, retain the process of participants' thinking and entering into their own topics, and retain the sense of scene and "atmosphere" of discussion, so as to faithfully reflect how the new generation of Chinese students read the text closely, how to choose their own perspectives, and then how to think and develop their own academic problems on the basis of careful reading of the text.

About the author

Wu Xiaodong, Boli County, Heilongjiang Province. From 1984 to 1994, he studied Chinese Language and Literature at Peking University and received his doctorate degree. He is currently a professor of Chinese Language and Literature at Peking University, a distinguished professor of Liberal Arts at Peking University, a distinguished Professor of "Changjiang Scholar" of the Ministry of Education, a member of the Academic Committee of Peking University, a deputy director of the Faculty of Humanities at Peking University, and a director of the Academic Committee of the Chinese Language Department at Peking University.
