《在地狱阅览室里》内容简介

　　本书收录了波拉尼奥1976年至2003年间所撰写的报刊专栏、讲演文稿及其他非虚构作品。以2019年阿尔法瓜拉出版社出版的文集《在风霜雨雪中》（Alaintemperie）为底本，另增补该文集未收录但存在于2004年阿纳格拉玛出版社出版的文集《括号之间》（Entreparéntesis）中的篇目，以及短篇小说与随笔合集《令人不堪忍受的高乔人》（ElGauchoInsufrible）中的两篇非虚构文稿，力求在一本书中收全现有的全部波拉尼奥非虚构作品。

　　全书分为报刊撰稿、讲座与演讲、读与重读三个部分，所涉话题十分广泛。波拉尼奥在其中细数自己喜欢或讨厌的作家、作品，也记录现实生活中与朋友的交往、偶尔遇到的趣事和怪事，一两页纸的篇幅就能将这些人、事、物生动呈现在读者眼前。他真实的生活轨迹、文学理念、个人情感尽在其中。

　　罗贝托・波拉尼奥（RobertoBolaño，1953—2003）

　　出生于智利，父亲是卡车司机和业余拳击手，母亲在学校教授数学和统计学。1968年全家移居墨西哥。1973年波拉尼奥再次回到智利投身社会主义革命却遭到逮捕，差点被杀害。逃回墨西哥后他和好友推动了融合超现实主义、达达主义以及街头剧场的“现实以下主义”（Infrarealism）运动，意图激发拉丁美洲年轻人对生活与文学的热爱。1977年他前往欧洲，最后在西班牙波拉瓦海岸结婚定居。2003年因为肝脏功能损坏，等不到器官移植而在巴塞罗那去世，年仅五十岁。

　　波拉尼奥近四十岁才开始写小说，作品数量却十分惊人，身后留下十部小说、四部短篇小说集以及三部诗集。1998年出版的《荒野侦探》在拉美文坛引起的轰动，不亚于三十年前《百年孤独》出版时的盛况。而其身后出版的《2666》更是引发欧美舆论压倒性好评，均致以杰作、伟大、里程碑、天才等等赞誉。苏珊・桑塔格、约翰・班维尔、科尔姆・托宾、斯蒂芬・金等众多作家对波拉尼奥赞赏有加，更有评论认为此书的出版自此将作者带至塞万提斯、斯特恩、梅尔维尔、普鲁斯特、穆齐尔与品钦的同一队列。

In the Reading Room of Hell

The book is a collection of newspaper columns, lectures, and other nonfiction works written by Bolano between 1976 and 2003. Based on the collection "Alaintemperie" published by Alfa Guara Press in 2019 and supplemented with articles not included in the collection but existing in the collection "Entreparentesis" published by Anagrama Press in 2004, And two nonfiction manuscripts in ElGauchoInsufrible, a collection of short stories and essays, in an effort to bring together all of Bolano's existing nonfiction in one book.

The book is divided into three parts: newspaper writing, lecture and speech, reading and rereading, covering a wide range of topics. In it, Bolano enumerates the writers and works he likes or hates, and also records the contacts with friends in real life, and the funny and strange things he occasionally encounters, and these people, things and things can be vividly presented in front of readers in a page or two. His real life track, literary ideas, personal feelings are all in it.

RobertoBolano (1953-2003)

Born in Chile to a father who was a truck driver and amateur boxer and a mother who taught math and statistics at school. The family moved to Mexico in 1968. Bolano returned to Chile in 1973 to join the socialist revolution but was arrested and nearly killed. After fleeing to Mexico, he and his friends promoted the "Infrarealism" movement, which combined surrealism, Dada and street theater to inspire young Latin Americans to love life and literature. In 1977, he moved to Europe, where he eventually married and settled on Spain's Polava coast. In 2003, he died in Barcelona at the age of 50 due to liver failure and could not wait for an organ transplant.

Bolano did not begin to write fiction until he was in his late forties, but he wrote an astonishing number of novels, four collections of short stories, and three collections of poetry. Published in 1998, "The Wild Detective" caused a sensation in Latin American literary circles, no less than "One Hundred years of Solitude" was published thirty years earlier. The book 2666 published after his death has triggered overwhelming praise from European and American public opinion, all of which are masterpieces, great, milestone, genius and so on. Authors such as Susan Sontag, John Banville, Colm Toibin, Stephen King, and others have praised Bolano, with critics saying that the publication of the book puts the author in the same company as Cervantes, Stern, Melville, Proust, Muzier, and Pynchon.
