2018年7月，母亲确诊阿尔茨海默病初期，而我被查出淋巴癌。母女各自遭逢生命剧变，家庭也作为共同体承托着照护重担。如何接住下坠中的脆弱之人？如何重构身心、自我与关系？治疗与康复的“过渡仪式”是一段往复旅程，其间既有毁减、疼痛与绝望，也有重建、愈合与新生。
病后五年，宛如一场经历、遗忘与重构的奇遇。或许因为我们都在生命动荡转型时，跨越身心边界，默默调整了与自己和彼此的关系。生平第一次，我如此渴望理解母亲在想什么、经历了什么。在认知的渡口，全家都和母亲一起上船，携手度过记忆与失忆的边界。我也从重病中毕业新生，学会向生命示弱，也决心将自己交托，在人生下半场继续照护的实践与探索。
作者简介
刘绍华，人类学家，美国哥伦比亚大学博士，台湾“中央研究院”民族学研究所研究员。研究领域主要从疾病与医疗的角度切入，分析国家与全球卫生，理解当代社会变革的本质与倾向，以及身处变化中的个人生命经验与转型。著有《我的凉山兄弟》《柬埔寨旅人》等。

In July 2018, my mother was diagnosed with the early stages of Alzheimer's disease and I was diagnosed with lymphatic cancer. Mother and daughter each suffered a life upheaval, and the family as a community to bear the burden of care. How do you catch a falling, vulnerable person? How to reconstruct body and mind, self and relationship? The "rite of transition" of healing and recovery is a reciprocal journey that involves destruction, pain and despair, as well as reconstruction, healing and renewal.
Five years after the illness is an adventure of experience, forgetting and reconstruction. Perhaps because we are all in the turbulent transition of life, across the physical and mental boundaries, silently adjusting to the relationship with ourselves and each other. For the first time in my life, I wanted to understand what my mother was thinking and going through. At the ferry of cognition, the whole family gets on board with the mother, hand in hand through the boundary between memory and amnesia. I also graduated from a serious illness, learned to show weakness to life, and was determined to entrust myself to continue the practice and exploration of care in the second half of life.
About the author
Liu Shaohua, an anthropologist with a PhD from Columbia University, is a research fellow at the Institute of Ethnology, Academia Sinica, Taiwan. His research focuses on analyzing national and global health from the perspective of disease and medical treatment, understanding the nature and tendency of contemporary social change, as well as the life experience and transformation of individuals in the midst of change. He is the author of "My Liangshan Brother" and "Cambodian Traveler".
