　　世界级插画大师陈志勇的“纸上个展”。

　　“生灵”是贯穿陈志勇创作生涯的独特主题，陈志勇在书中写到：对我来说，它们因为不是人类而更加充满人性。……对于我们心中最私密的想法或情感，尤其是那些我们难以描述的东西，这些怪异的存在或许是最完美的共鸣。

　　作者简介

　　陈志勇是一位来自澳大利亚珀斯的艺术家、作家和电影制片人，他的作品享誉全球，曾两次获得世界科幻协会颁发的“雨果奖最佳美术奖”，四度获得“世界奇幻奖最佳艺术家”称号。2011年，荣获由瑞典政府颁发的林格伦儿童文学奖，同年3月，改编自他的同名绘本并由他导演的动画《失物招领》也获得第83届奥斯卡最佳动画短片奖。2020年，《内城故事》获得英国凯特·格林纳威大奖。2022年，新作《生灵》被评为英国《卫报》年度最佳儿童读物。

　　目前，他与妻子、两个孩子和一只鹦鹉、几条鱼和竹节虫们居住在墨尔本。

A brief introduction to "Creatures"

"Solo Exhibition on Paper" by world-class illustrator Chen Zhiyong.

"Creatures" is a unique theme that runs through Chen Zhiyong's creative career, and Chen Zhiyong wrote in the book: To me, they are all the more human because they are not human. ... These eerie presences are perhaps the perfect resonance for the most private thoughts or emotions in our hearts, especially those we struggle to describe.

The collection includes more than 200 paintings by Chen Zhiyong. In addition to sketches for "Arriving on Shore," "Lost and Found," "Stories from the Outer Suburbs," and the Kate Greenway Award winning "Stories from the Inner City," the collection also includes for the first time his never-before seen independent paintings, including one from when he was 3 years old.

Chen Zhiyong has made detailed and sincere annotations for these paintings, using humorous and philosophical language, so that readers can understand the background and creative inspiration of each work.

About the author

Chen Zhiyong is an artist, writer and filmmaker from Perth, Australia, whose work is internationally acclaimed, having won the Hugo Award for Best Fine Art twice from the World Science Fiction Association and the World Fantasy Award for Best Artist four times. In 2011, he won the Swedish government's Lindgren Children's Literature Award, and in March of the same year, the animation Lost and Found, adapted from his picture book of the same name and directed by him, also won the best animated short film award at the 83rd Academy Awards. In 2020, Inner City Tales won the UK's Kate Greenaway Award. In 2022, the new work "Creatures" was named the Guardian's best children's book of the year.

He currently lives in Melbourne with his wife, two children, a parrot, several fish and stick insects.
