本书以沈从文开创中国古代服饰史研究为起点,回溯了他关于服饰研究的最初探索,以及其助手王?和王亚蓉先生筚路蓝缕,克服种种困难,传承沈先生服饰研究的未竟事业,开辟了纺织考古和文物修复新领域的成长历程。
书中展现了纺织考古工作者亲历重要考古现场的挖掘、保护过程,再现江西靖安东周大墓、湖南长沙马王堆汉墓、陕西法门寺唐塔地宫、新疆尼雅贵族墓地等多地考古现场。他们的考古工作不断丰富着服饰文化研究的客观资料,逐渐形成了较为完整的中国历代服饰文物的实物链,为中国古代服饰文化研究提供了重要的佐证。本书系统总结了服饰考古的实证成果,梳理了从东周、战国、汉、唐、宋到元、明,三千多年中国纺织品文物的演化发展历程,以及在纺织考古研究中的新发现。三百多张珍贵图片高度还原纺织考古挖掘现场、文物出土的原貌以及修复后的成果,体现了中国纺织品千年传承不断的辉煌成就和灿烂的服饰文化。
作者简介
王亚蓉,中国社会科学院考古研究所特聘研究员、纺织考古学科学术带头人,中国文物学会纺织文物专业委员会会长。主持并参与了湖南长沙马王堆汉墓、陕西法门寺唐塔地宫、新疆尼雅贵族墓地、江西海昏侯墓等二十余座考古现场的纺织品文物清理、保护、研究、修复等工作。发表论文及专著二十余部。1974至1988年,曾担沈从文先生助手,参与了沈先生对于中国古代服饰的研究工作,协助其完成了《中国古代服饰研究》一书的整理绘图出版工作。2016年,获中央电视台“大国工匠”荣誉称号,并获评2016年中国文化促进会“全球十大中华文化人物”称号。

This book takes Shen Congwen's pioneering research on the history of ancient Chinese clothing as a starting point, tracing his initial exploration of clothing research, and his assistant Wang? And Mr. Wang Yarong endured hardships, overcame various difficulties, inherited Mr. Shen's unfinished business in clothing research, and opened up a new field of textile archaeology and cultural relic restoration.
The book shows the process of excavation and protection of important archaeological sites experienced by textile archaeologists, reproducing the Eastern Zhou Tomb in Jingan, Jiangxi, the Han Tomb in Mawangdui, Changsha, Hunan, the Tang Pagoda underground palace in Famen Temple, Shaanxi, and the cemetery of Niya nobles in Xinjiang. Their archaeological work has continuously enriched the objective materials for the study of costume culture, and gradually formed a relatively complete physical chain of costume relics in ancient China, providing important evidence for the study of ancient Chinese costume culture. This book systematically summarizes the empirical results of clothing archaeology, and sorts out the evolution and development of textile cultural relics in China from the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, Warring States, Han Dynasty, Tang Dynasty, Song Dynasty to Yuan Dynasty and Ming Dynasty for more than 3,000 years, as well as the new discoveries in textile archaeology research. More than 300 precious pictures are highly restored to the textile archaeological excavation site, the original appearance of cultural relics unearthed and the results after restoration, reflecting the brilliant achievements and splendid clothing culture of China's textile inheritance for thousands of years.
About the author
Wang Yarong, distinguished researcher of the Institute of Archaeology, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, academic leader of textile archaeology, President of the Textile Cultural Relics Committee of the Chinese Society of Cultural Relics. He presided over and participated in the cleaning, protection, research and restoration of textile relics at more than 20 archaeological sites, such as Mawangdui Han Tomb in Changsha, Hunan, Tangta Underground Palace in Famen Temple, Shaanxi, Niya noble Cemetery in Xinjiang, and Haihunhou Tomb in Jiangxi. He has published more than 20 papers and monographs. From 1974 to 1988, he served as Mr. Shen Congwen's assistant, participated in Mr. Shen's research work on ancient Chinese costumes, and assisted him in finishing and publishing the book Research on Ancient Chinese Costumes. In 2016, he was awarded the honorary title of "Great Power Craftsman" by CCTV, and was awarded the title of "Global Top Ten Cultural Figures of Greater China" by China Culture Promotion Association in 2016.
