A brief introduction to Their Own Literature
This is a landmark work of feminist literary criticism. A Literature of Their Own tells the stories of British female novelists from the 19th century to the present, and reconstructs the literary tradition that belongs exclusively to women. This book not only analyzes well-known novelists such as Charlotte Bronte, George Eliot and Virginia Woolf, but also looks at the lives and works of many women who have been lost in literary history. In the face of the cynicism of male critics, the dilemma of family and career, and the dilemma of gender identity, they still write as a career, creating an endless female literary tradition.
