I, You, We
I, You, We: Towards a Culture of Difference is one of Iligarry's masterpieces, a collection of speeches, interviews, and essays written by the author in the late 1980s that focuses on the possibility of a female subject, as distinct from, and independent of, the male subject.
From the criticism of the western patriarchal tradition, Iligarry seeks the possibility of female discourse and strives to promote the real female self. The author proposes how to "be" female in terms of language, appearance, motherhood (natural and spiritual), age, and health, focusing on analyzing and correcting alleged inequalities between men and women, and understanding and valuing the differences between each other.
