作者简介
柯林·泰勒·森（ColleenTaylorSen），英国历史学家、作家，报刊杂志的撰稿人。此前她是一位记者，长期为《芝加哥太阳报》服务，现在专职写作。她的著作包括《咖喱：一部全球史》《印度美食史：盛宴与斋戒的国度》（繁体中文版即将由天培出版）《解码印度餐厅菜单》《食品和文化百科全书》。其中《印度美食史：盛宴与斋戒的国度》一书，被《时尚》杂志和《史密森尼》杂志评为年度最佳美食书籍之一。
邓育渠，自由译者，毕业于暨南大学中印比较研究所、缅甸国际上座部佛教大学。曾任职于中铁隧道集团、苏州西园寺、环球钢铁公司等。主要研究和翻译和印度有关的各类图书。

In this book, the author explores the life, achievements, glory and dreams of Ashoka, one of the greatest leaders in Indian history.
This is a unique history of Ashoka and the Maurya Dynasty. The first two chapters of the book briefly describe the history of India before the Maurya Dynasty, and then discuss the rise of the Maurya Dynasty, the reign of Ashoka, the myth of Ashoka in later classics, the real history of Ashoka's era discovered by archeology, and the legacy of the Maurya Dynasty to later Indian dynasties. In addition, the book has organized a large number of extended reading reference materials, which can be used by learning researchers.
About the author
Colin TaylorSen is a British historian, author, and contributor to newspapers and magazines. Previously a journalist, she worked for the Chicago Sun-Times and now writes full-time. Her books include Curry: A Global History, A History of Indian Food: A Nation of Feasting and Fasting (forthcoming in traditional Chinese by Tempex), Decoding Indian Restaurant Menus, and An Encyclopedia of Food and Culture. A History of Indian Food: A Land of Feasting and Fasting was named one of the best food books of the year by Vogue magazine and Smithsonian Magazine.
Deng Yuqu, a freelance translator, graduated from the Institute of China-India Comparative Studies at Jinan University and the International Theravada Buddhist University in Myanmar. He has worked in China Railway Tunnel Group, Suzhou Xiyuan Temple, Global Iron and Steel Company, etc. He mainly researches and translates various books related to India.
