A brief introduction to the Age of Rage
The 18th century was an important period in Russian history, with the spread of the European Enlightenment and the rise of the Russian Empire, beginning with Peter I, Russia underwent comprehensive reforms in the political, economic, ideological, cultural and military fields. On the one hand, Russia was still facing numerous social problems; Change, on the other hand, occurs "in every capillary." New forms of government organization, judicial theories, official documents, and financial forms emerged, and cultural changes were "earthshaking" : general and professional education systems were established for the first time, religion was "subjugation" to secular regimes, regular journals and publications brought literary prosperity, and libraries became irreplaceable cultural symbols.
