  这本论文集收有作者的8篇文章,主题相当集中,都紧密围绕着先秦礼书中的酒器等级礼制展开。

  “酒器等级礼制”这个论题,此前几乎无人问津。而作者在此发现了一处富矿,经精细考辨,澄清了若干旧有疑难,开掘出了若干前所未知的史实。例如,梳理了“爵”之概念变迁,揭示“五爵”是一套“容量化器名”,并把典礼用爵的等级架构公诸于众了。

  除了通过具体考证提供了文史新知,本研究也有理论意义。在传统时代,“爵”是最古老、最富连续性的一种品位,被用于赋予和维系的尊卑贵贱,同时“爵”又是饮酒器之名;而“尊”是古代最重要的身份地位用词,同时“尊”又是盛酒器之名。“爵”“尊”二字在殷商甲骨文中就存在了,同时殷商的青铜礼器中,酒器竟然占到了70%-80%。周代青铜器中食器比例虽然大增,但重大典礼如祭祀、飨宴、射侯等,献酒饮酒仍构成了核心礼数。而这一情况,被纪录于东周礼书之中了。不难推知,酒器在先秦等级礼制中必定占有特殊地位,竟使爵、尊这样的酒器之名,变成了人的等级地位用词。在凝聚了先秦礼乐精华、作为历代文化经典的礼书之中,可以看到各色人等、各个爵级,在不同礼典的不同环节使用着不同名称的酒器,而这就是本书的研究对象。酒爵(与酒尊)等级用于维系人之尊卑,所以,本论文集题名“酒之爵与人之爵”。

  作者简介

  阎步克,1954年生。1988年毕业于北京大学历史系,获历史学博士学位。此后在北京大学中国古代史研究中心任教。1993年任教授。专业方向为魏晋南北朝史、政治制度史和政治文化史。

The author found a rich mine here, clarified some old problems and dug up some previously unknown historical facts after careful investigation. For example, the concept change of "Jue" is sorted out, revealing that "five Jue" is a set of "volumetric name", and the hierarchical structure of ceremony Jue is made public.

In addition to providing new knowledge of literature and history through specific textual research, this study also has theoretical significance. In traditional times, "Jue" is the oldest and most continuous kind of taste, which is used to give and maintain the dignity and nobility, and "jue" is also the name of the wine drinker; And "respect" is the most important status word in ancient times, and "respect" is the name of the wine vessel. The word "jue" and "respect" existed in the oracle bone inscriptions of the Shang Dynasty. At the same time, among the bronze ritual vessels of the Shang Dynasty, the wine vessels accounted for 70%-80%. Although the proportion of food utensils in the bronze wares of the Zhou Dynasty increased greatly, the core rites of major ceremonies such as sacrifice, feasting, shooting and so on still consisted of offering wine and drinking. This situation was recorded in the book of Rites of Eastern Zhou. It is not difficult to infer that wine vessels must occupy a special position in the pre-Qin grade ritual system, and the name of such wine vessels as jue and Zun has become a term of rank status for people. In the book of rites, which embodies the essence of pre-Qin rites and music and is a cultural classic of the past dynasties, we can see that all kinds of people and different ranks use different names of wine vessels in different links of different rites, and this is the research object of this book. The rank of wine Lord (and wine honour) is used to maintain the dignity of people, so the title of this collection of essays is "Wine Lord and Man Lord".

About the author

Yan Buke, born in 1954. He graduated from Peking University in 1988 with a doctorate in history. He later taught at the Center for Ancient Chinese History at Peking University. He became a professor in 1993. The major direction is the history of Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, political system history and political culture history.
