The Narrative Instinct. Can you believe it? We can never restore a thing to the way it was.

Things are first seen or experienced by us, then recognized and interpreted, and finally told and transmitted. In this process, things are no longer the original appearance, it integrates into the concrete life, printed on the personal color. It's how we understand the world and define ourselves.

This is the power of narrative. The authors also point out that the narrative part of the brain is connected to the social part, and that humans are able to express and interact through storytelling from infancy. This innate ability profoundly influences our thinking and emotions, shaping our cognitive frameworks and behavioral patterns.

Through narration, we release our inner confusion and adjust our attitudes and actions. The positive narrative is a powerful energy that helps us to get out of sadness, relieve anxiety, get out of trouble, and start again.

Narrative does more than that. Trivia and state affairs, reality and fiction, traditions and beliefs, institutions and rules, all travel through time and space through narrative, connecting different individuals into a group with common values. It can be said that narrative constructs human civilization consciousness.

In this book, the author draws on new research in the science of the human brain, as well as related theories in psychology and literature, to explain why narrative is human instinct, how it affects the evolution of civilization, and reveals the infinite power of narrative - from healing the self to creating a peaceful world.
