The introduction to Playing Piano Drunk Until Your Fingers Start to Bleed a Little is a collection of 64 poems written by Charles Bukowski from the 1970s onwards. In this collection, "full of little stories," Bukowski writes not only about himself, but also about other underprivileged people: immigrants, workers, poor whites, people on benefits... In a life of poverty, drunkenness, illness, heartbreak, loneliness, pain, numbness, they struggle, they fall, they rise again, they wait for death to take them out of their drunkenness, but in this life there are also love and ideals, and moments of infinite beauty.
