作者简介
徐冰，中国著名版画家、艺术家，中央美术学院教授、博士生导师。1999年获得美国文化界最高奖麦克·阿瑟奖，2007年获得美国版画艺术终身成就奖，2015年荣获美国国务院AIE艺术勋章。作品曾在中国美术馆、大英博物馆、纽约现代艺术博物馆、大都会博物馆等艺术机构展出。

My True Characters is an autobiographical collection of essays by Xu Bing, a famous contemporary Chinese artist. In the article, he reviewed his decades of artistic growth history, his thinking and reflection on Chinese and Western art, and the impact of his era on individuals. The book is divided into two parts, respectively describing Xu Bing's growth experience and personal artistic exploration journey. He is rooted in a national, cosmopolitan source of art, as well as self-interpretation around ten important works. From the mountains of Saibei to New York, Xu Bing offers us an extraordinary picture of contemporary artistic exploration. The book also reveals a large number of rare images, allowing us to understand the life and work of the artist in a more detailed and comprehensive way.
About the author
Xu Bing, a famous Chinese printmaker, artist, professor and doctoral supervisor of the Central Academy of Fine Arts. In 1999, he received the MacArthur Award, the highest cultural award in the United States, the American Printmaking Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007, and the AIE Medal of Art of the United States Department of State in 2015. His works have been exhibited in the National Art Museum of China, the British Museum, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and other art institutions.
