为了成长和适应社会,每个人都会将部分自我遗忘、抛弃,或压抑在潜意识中,形成了阴影自我。这些人格特质并没有消失,会转化为消极的信念、不健康的习惯、不好的情绪,如嫉妒、痛苦、羞耻、内疚、愤怒、烦躁等等,掌控我们的行动,让我们不舒服、情绪化,甚至阻碍我们得到幸福。
荣格称阴影自我是“内在的另一个我”“潜藏另一性别的人格特质”“内在令人讨厌的次级部分”,或者是”让我们感到难堪和丢脸的另一个我”。而发现这些阴暗面也是自我探索和自我接纳的必经之路。

"Shadow Work Journal" works introduction
In order to grow and adapt to society, everyone will forget, abandon, or suppress part of the self in the subconscious, forming a shadow self. These personality traits do not go away and can translate into negative beliefs, unhealthy habits, bad emotions such as jealousy, pain, shame, guilt, anger, irritability, etc., which control our actions, make us uncomfortable, emotional, and even prevent us from achieving happiness.
Jung called the shadow self "an inner self," "a personality trait of another sex," "an unpleasant secondary part of the inner self," or "another self that embarrassees and humiliates us." Discovering these dark sides is part of the process of self-exploration and self-acceptance.
One cannot destroy the shadow self, but one can reconcile with it.
