作者简介
马克斯·玻恩Max Born（1882.12.11—1970.1.5）
德国著名理论物理学家、数学家，量子力学奠基人之一。他一生所获荣誉众多，被先后邀请为近10个国家级科学院（或学会）的院士，并于1954年被授予诺贝尔物理学奖，以表彰他在量子力学领域的基础研究。
马克斯·玻恩曾在德国组建著名的“哥廷根学派”，并将哥廷根建设成世界物理学研究中心之一。他曾在德国和英国多所顶级院校担任教授，泡利和海森堡曾是他的助手，费米和奥本海默曾是他的学生。他还教导过很多中国科学家，包括“两弹一星”元勋彭桓武、程开甲，中国核物理学会理事长杨立铭、中国半导体技术奠基人黄昆等。
玻恩一生著述众多，发表论文300多篇，出版著作20多部，本书是他唯一为大众所写的科普著作。
A brief introduction to the Never-Ending Universe
This book tells the story of how a generation of physicists broke the shackles of classical mechanics and built the buildings of modern physics. From the shallow to the deep, from the macro to the micro: firstly, the motion and properties of macromolecules such as gas and pollen are introduced; Then from the atom, electron and other microscopic particles, the exploration of the ultimate particle, as well as the wave theory of light and particle theory; Finally, we dive deep into the nucleus to explore the nature of protons and neutrons, and the enormous energy they contain.

About the author
Max Born (1882.12.11 -- 1970.1.5)
German famous theoretical physicist, mathematician, one of the founders of quantum mechanics. He was invited to become a member of nearly 10 national academies (or societies) and was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1954 for his fundamental research in quantum mechanics.
Max Born formed the famous "Gottingen School" in Germany, and built Gottingen into one of the world's physics research centers. He was a professor at top universities in Germany and England, with Pauli and Heisenberg among his assistants and Fermi and Oppenheimer among his students. He also taught many Chinese scientists, including Peng Huanwu and Cheng Kaijia, the founding fathers of the "Two bombs and one star", Yang Liming, chairman of the Chinese Society of Nuclear Physics, and Huang Kun, the founder of China's semiconductor technology.
Born wrote a lot in his life, published more than 300 papers, published more than 20 books, this book is the only popular science work he wrote for the public.
