《让石头说话》内容简介
石器是史前考古，尤其是旧石器时代考古（简称旧石器考古）最主要、最常见的研究材料。石器本不能说话，它之所以能“说话”，是因为考古工作者的研究。让石器说话的过程就是科学探究的过程。研究石器，仅仅端详或凝视是不够的。我们从石器上所得的认识，都需要基于一定的理论、方法与材料进行推理，建立完整的行为逻辑链条。
本书通过对具体石器材料的研究，以点带面，一方面，把石器考古的理论、方法与材料结合起来，进而讨论史前人类社会的文化适应变迁，建立成功的范例；另一方面，试图以石器为视角，透视中国史前史。统合不同石器研究的是作者提炼出来的一套“分层-关联的方法论”，研究实践证明这一方法论是行之有效的。
作者简介
陈胜前，中国人民大学历史学院考古文博系教授。主要研究领域为考古学理论、史前考古、石器分析等。著有《史前的现代化：从狩猎采集到农业起源》（第16届文津图书奖）、《思考考古》（2018年度全国优秀文化遗产类图书）、《中国文化基因的起源：考古学的视角》等；发表《中国考古学研究的范式与范式变迁》《早期中国社会权力演化的独特道路》等论文一百余篇。
Let the Stone Talk
Stone tools are the most important and common research materials of prehistoric archaeology, especially Paleolithic archaeology (referred to as paleolithic archaeology). The stone can not talk, it can "talk" because of the study of archeologists. The process of making stone tools talk is the process of scientific inquiry. To study stone tools, it is not enough to just look at them or stare at them. The knowledge we get from stone tools requires reasoning based on certain theories, methods and materials to establish a complete logical chain of behavior.
On the one hand, this book combines the theories, methods and materials of stone archaeology to discuss the cultural adaptation and change of prehistoric human society and establish successful examples. On the other hand, it tries to look into the prehistory of China from the perspective of stone tools. What unites the study of different stone tools is a set of "layer-correlation methodology" extracted by the author, which has been proved to be effective by the research practice.
About the author
Chen Shengqian is a professor at the Department of Archaeology and History, Renmin University of China. His main research areas are archaeological theory, prehistoric archaeology and stone tool analysis. He is the author of "Prehistoric Modernization: From Hunter-Gatherer to Agricultural Origin" (16th Wenjin Book Award), "Thinking Archaeology" (2018 National Excellent Cultural Heritage Book), "The Origin of Chinese Cultural Genes: an Archaeological Perspective" and so on. He has published more than 100 papers such as "Paradigms and Paradigm Changes in Chinese Archaeological Research" and "The Unique Path of Social Power Evolution in Early China".
