定位，通俗地讲就是寻找一个适合的位置。一个人要想不活得稀里糊涂、浑浑噩噩，就要学会先给自己定好位——能做什么、想做什么、怎样去做。人不能总是走到哪儿算哪儿，懂得定位，就可以学会以理性的态度追求更好的生存状态，这样，才能把命运的主动权握在自己手中。
高点定位不代表一心一意只追求那些工资高、福利高的岗位，或一定要做个百万富翁，亿万富豪，而是追求在自己最愿意干、最想干的事业上能攀升到自己力所能及的最高处，而不是妄自尊大，不顾事实，盲目给自己定根本不切实际的目标。
低点起步关注的是对未来发展有益的小处，所谓合抱之木，生于毫末，注意的是事态发展的细微起源，而不是鸡毛蒜皮、无关紧要的小事。更不是没有大眼光，只顾低头寻找路人掉的硬币却不知道自己的路在何处。
