这本小说由越南女孩“满”在流亡前后的生活片段连缀而成。“满”有三个妈妈：第一个妈妈未婚先孕，丢弃了满，“她的脑袋有一个洞”；第二个妈妈在菜地里捡到了满，“她的信仰有一个洞”；第三个妈妈阴差阳错地成了间谍，“她的小腿上有一个洞”。跟随第三个妈妈流亡到加拿大蒙特利尔后，满嫁给一个开餐馆的越南人。通过精心制作传统的越南食物，满不仅赚取了金钱，而且遇见了从未有过的温情与悸动。从此，她人生的悲喜、情爱的边界都与烹饪这件事息息相关。
作者简介
金翠（KimThúy），加拿大籍亚裔女作家。
1968年生于越南西贡，10岁时随家人逃离，在马来西亚难民营度过一年后被加拿大政府接收。20世纪90年代初，她在蒙特利尔大学先后学习翻译专业和法学专业，当过译员、律师、裁缝、厨师和饭店老板。2009年，她因出版第一部小说《漂》而受到瞩目，在2010年获得加拿大总督文学奖，之后陆续出版作品《致你的信》《满：一部异乡小说》等。2018年，她成为新学院文学奖的四位决选人之一。

The novel is made up of fragments from the life of a Vietnamese girl named "Man" before and after exile. "Man" has three mothers: the first mother got pregnant out of wedlock and abandoned Man, "there is a hole in her head"; The second mother found in the vegetable patch, "There is a hole in her faith"; The third mother became a spy by accident and "she had a hole in her calf." After following her third mother to exile in Montreal, Canada, Manchu married a Vietnamese who ran a restaurant. By elaborating traditional Vietnamese food, Man not only earns money, but also encounters warmth and excitement that he has never had before. About the author
KimThuy is an Asian Canadian writer.
Born in Saigon, Vietnam, in 1968, he fled with his family at the age of 10 and spent a year in a refugee camp in Malaysia before being accepted by the Canadian government. In the early 1990s, she studied translation and law at the University of Montreal and worked as an interpreter, lawyer, seamstress, chef and restaurant owner. In 2009, she published her first novel Drift, won the Canadian Governor General's Literary Award in 2010, and later published a Letter to You and Full: A Novel from a Foreign Land. In 2018, she was one of four finalists for the New School Literature Prize.
