In 1933, when the Nazis came to power in Germany, Einstein's close friend Paul Ehrenfest, an Austrian physicist, shot his son and then committed suicide; Von Neumann, who died in 1957, created the first modern computer, established the mathematical foundations of quantum mechanics, helped develop the atomic bomb, published Game Theory and Economic Behavior, and foresaw digital life, self-replicating machines, artificial intelligence and the technological singularity. In 2016, South Korean Go master Lee Sedol won only one game against AlphaGo in five games, which was called the "first year of artificial intelligence".
