《杨宽著作集：中国古代都城制度史研究》以文献资料结合丰富的考古发掘成果，并经过许多次的实地考察，系统地研究论证了中国古代都城及其制度的发展演变，其中多所创见。作者认为先秦到唐代是实行封闭式都城制度的历史阶段，在西汉、东汉之际，都城制度发生了一次重大变化，整个都城的格局由“坐西朝东”变为“坐北朝南”，在唐宋之际，都城制度发生了又一次更大的变化，即由封闭式变成了开放式。这是由都城人口的急剧增长、社会经济的发展而引起的变化。《杨宽著作集：中国古代都城制度史研究》对中国古代都城都作了详细的考察研究，并配以大量的图片资料以资说明。
作者简介
杨宽（1914-2005），原上海市博物馆馆长兼光华大学历史系教授，1953年任复旦大学历史系教授，1960年转任上海社会科学院历史研究所副所长，1970年始专任复旦大学教授。著有《中国上古史导论》、《中国历代尺度考》、《西周史》、《古史新探》、《中国古代冶铁技术发展史》、《中国古代陵寝制度史研究》、《中国古代都城制度史研究》等。
A brief introduction to the research on the History of ancient Chinese Capital System
"Yang Kuan's Works: A Study on the History of Ancient Chinese Capital System" is a systematic study of the development and evolution of ancient Chinese capital cities and their systems, based on documentary materials and rich archaeological excavations, and after many field visits. The author believes that from the pre-Qin period to the Tang Dynasty, the closed capital system was implemented in the historical stage. In the Western Han and Eastern Han Dynasties, the capital system underwent a major change, and the pattern of the whole capital changed from "sitting west facing east" to "sitting north facing south". In the Tang and Song dynasties, the capital system underwent another greater change, that is, from closed to open. This is caused by the rapid growth of the population of the capital and the development of social economy. Yang Kuan's Works: A Study on the History of the Capital System in Ancient China makes a detailed investigation and study of the ancient capital cities in China, and is illustrated with a large number of pictures.
About the author
Yang Kuan (1914-2005), former director of Shanghai Museum and Professor of History at Guanghua University, was appointed professor of History at Fudan University in 1953, Deputy director of the Institute of History at Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences in 1960, and full professor at Fudan University since 1970. His books include Introduction to Ancient Chinese History, A Survey on the Scale of Chinese Dynasties, History of the Western Zhou Dynasty, A New Exploration of Ancient History, Development of Iron Smelting Technology in Ancient China, A Study on the History of the Ancient Chinese Mausoleum System, and a Study on the History of the Ancient Chinese Capital System.
