"Buried Memorials, Friends and Dreams: The Poetry of Wislawa Szymborska," published by the Szymborska Foundation, is the official biography of the Nobel Prize-winning Polish poetess Zymborska.
Szymborska is a Polish writer and translator who translated many excellent French poems into Polish and was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1996 for her poetry, which she described as "of unusual and unyielding purity and power". She is the fourth Polish winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature, and the third female poet in the world to win the prize, enjoying the reputation of "the Mozart of poetry". A year after winning the Nobel Prize, the authors of the book, Anna Biconte and Yuanna Szechenschner, expressed their desire to write a biography of her. At first Simbowska was reluctant, as she was usually reluctant to talk about her personal life. The author of this book has won the trust of the poet by patiently investigating and collecting a large amount of data.
In this book, the reader will encounter a poet who is elegant and somewhat eccentric. She takes her poetry to the point of stubbornness and is never picky about what she eats when she reviews it. AnnaBikont is a Polish psychologist and author whose book Crime and Silence won the European Book Prize in 2011.
JoannaSzcz z sna is a Polish journalist and writer. Co-authored several books with Anna Biconte, including Avalanche and Stone, which won the Cultural Foundation Prize in 2007.
