"Humans have been on the planet for more than 100,000 years and it is because of our plasticity, creativity and intelligence that we have continued to be called 'human'."

The space archaeology we are talking about here is not the "archaeology" of the material in the universe, but the science of searching for ancient human features or sites on Earth by analyzing satellite images using air or space data.

The author of this book, a cool space archaeologist, combines big history and future technology from a very interesting perspective, starting from the curiosity of the public about the profession of space archaeologist, changes the historical period of 1944AD-1944BCE, and proposes how we should start from now on with a firm hope for the future. As an archaeologist, she has worked on remote sensing projects in 12 countries and 4 continents, identifying thousands of potential archaeological sites using multispectral and high-resolution satellite image analysis.

These include previously unknown settlements, roads, forts, palaces, tombs, and even potential pyramids. She currently focuses on crowdsourcing efforts to map ancient civilizations in Peru and India.

About the author

SarahParcak, renowned American space archaeologist, Egyptology expert, tenured professor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, USA, and founding director of the Global Observation Laboratory; National Geographic Society Fellow in Archaeology, Society of Antiquities Fellow, and TED Senior Fellow. Parcak has won numerous awards and honors for his outstanding archaeological work, including the 2020 Guggenheim Fellowship, the 2018 Lowell Thomas Medal from the Explorers Club, the 2017 Young Global Leader, the 2016 TED Prize, the 2016 Smithsonian American Creativity Award, the National Geographic Archaeology Fellowship, and more.
