The story takes place in the small German town of Hameln. It is said that this place has a serious rat problem. One day, a man in a beautiful dress came here and said that he could solve the rat problem. The villagers promised to pay a large sum of money if he solved the problem. The man played his flute, and all the rats of the town followed him, one by one, into the sea and drowned. When the villagers saw that the mouse was dead, they pretended not to give money. The man left helplessly. The next year, the man came again and played his flute outside the city, and all the children of the town came out with him and went with him to a cave, and the cave disappeared, and both the child and the man disappeared.
Abe also takes this magical legend as the starting point, like a detective, tracking documents and historical materials, reasoning layer by layer, and approaching step by step, revealing the cruel truth behind the legend, presenting the carnival and sorrow of the subclasses in the Middle Ages.
