About the author
Hernan Diaz is an Argentinean American writer. His first novel, Far Away, was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize and the Pen Prize and won several awards, including the Saroyan International Prize and the New American Voice Award. His second novel, Trust, won the 2023 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and was shortlisted for the Booker Prize. The book has been named the best Book of the Year by more than 30 media outlets, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, NPR and Time, and was named one of the 12 must-read books of the year by The New Yorker. Trust is also one of Barack Obama's favorite books of 2022 and is currently being adapted for a limited series by HBO.
Diaz's two novels have been translated into 35 languages. He received the John Updike Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, which is given to "an author who has made a sustained and distinguished contribution to American literature."
