魏晋名士是中国历史上一种独特的文化现象。他们身处黑暗、动荡的政治时局中，既纵情山水、狂放不羁，又在矛盾和惶恐中委屈求全、饱受煎熬。他们的精神追求和人生实践是一场痛苦、崎岖的苦旅。
本书以魏晋年间的时代更替为叙述顺序，综合各种正史、野史材料，以政治世态的变迁为展开逻辑，详尽叙述了曹魏末年到东晋中期约120年间共五代名士（正始名士、竹林名士、中朝名士、渡江名士、江左名士），纵横交错地勾勒了名士们的人生际遇与才情风貌。
作者简介
萧华荣，1941—2021，生于山东掖县，长于青岛。1978年考为山东大学中文系古典文学专业硕士研究生，师从萧涤非、董治安先生。曾留校任教，后为华东师范大学教授，毕生致力于中国古典文学的教学与研究。代表作有《中国诗学思想史》《魏晋南北朝诗话》《华丽家族》《簪缨世家》等。

About the author
Xiao Huarong, 1941-2021, was born in Ye County, Shandong Province, and grew up in Qingdao. In 1978, he was admitted to the Master's degree of Classical Literature in the Chinese Department of Shandong University, and studied under Mr. Xiao Difei and Mr. Dong Pingan. He was a professor at East China Normal University and devoted his life to the teaching and research of classical Chinese literature. His representative works include the History of Chinese Poetics, Poetry of Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, Gorgeous Family, and Family Wearing Ornaments.
