　　如今我们很难想象，当年拉康教学现场的盛况：你必须提前几个小时到那里，否则就根本找不到座位。演讲厅很快爆满。精神分析家、未来的教授、演员、作家……他们起初只是好奇，但很快被征服了。地面上布满了卡式录音机的电线，人们开心地被缠着脚……

　　在1966年的法国，拉康已是最负盛名的精神分析家与哲学家，他被奉为结构主义四巨头之一，与米歇尔·福柯齐名。他的思想波及深远，不仅启蒙了雅克·阿兰米勒、齐泽克在内的数代分析家与学者，还广泛地影响了文学、电影、性别理论等领域。

　　在拉康的课堂上，他不会用“阴茎嫉羡”来形容女性学员的野心和抱负，也从不认为成为母亲是每个女人命定的安排。他认为精神分析的重点在于让一位女性明确自己的欲望，从而在是否生育这一问题上获得选择的自由。

　　他教人们直视欲望。他说欲望是请求减去需要的剩余。要忍受关系中另一方的不满足。因为当需求被无条件满足时，欲望便被杀死了，而不再有任何欲望的空间，终将导致一段的关系的艰难。

　　他观察到幼年时的照料者如镜子一般映射出我们的自我形象，照料者的混乱与爱的匮乏，会导致一个人在自我认知上的紊乱和自我发展的困难。

Content introduction

It's hard to imagine what it was like to teach at Lacan: you had to be there hours in advance or you couldn't find a seat at all. The lecture hall filled up quickly. Psychoanalyst, future professor, actor, writer... They were curious at first, but were quickly overcome. The ground is covered with cassette player wires, and people are happily entangled with their feet...

In 1966, Lacan was already the most famous psychoanalyst and philosopher in France, and he was regarded as one of the four giants of structuralism, along with Michel Foucault. His ideas have far-reaching influence, not only enlighten several generations of analysts and scholars including Jacques Alain Miller and Zizek, but also widely influence the fields of literature, film, gender theory and so on.

In Lacan's classes, he does not use the term "penis envy" to describe the ambitions and aspirations of female students, and he never believes that motherhood is a predestined arrangement for every woman. He believed that the point of psychoanalysis was to give a woman the freedom to choose whether to procreate or not by defining her desires.

He taught people to look at their desires. He said that desire is the remainder of a request minus a need. Put up with the dissatisfaction of the other partner in the relationship. Because when needs are met unconditionally, desires are killed, and there is no longer any room for desire, which ultimately leads to a difficult relationship.

He observed that caregivers in childhood are like mirrors of our self-image, and that confusion and lack of love among caregivers can lead to disorder in one's self-cognition and difficulties in self-development.

The four key words mirror, father, woman, and madman correspond to Lacan's imaginary world, the symbolic world, the real world, and his reunderstanding of symptoms in his later years. The author disassembles Lacan's huge and complex system of thought, and uses Lacan's words to answer questions of public interest such as self, desire, women, and the boundary between madmen and normal people.

Shining views in the meantime, let the reader appreciate the enduring charm of this psychologist whose teaching is ahead of its time. As the analyst Estella Solano recalled when she came to Paris to meet Lacan: He was an old man, not sure how long he would live, and although I knew I shouldn't say this to his face, the point was that I told him his work would be immortal.

Member of the School of Psychoanalysis (EPS), individual practising analyst of Lacan School, PhD in psychoanalysis and psychopharmacology from the University of Paris Siedle (formerly University of Paris VII).

Participated in the compilation of "Born to Speak: An Introduction to Francois-Dordo's Psychoanalytic Thought", translated "Lacan", "The White Bear Experiment" and other works.

Zhang Tao

Lacan was a practicing analyst who received his master's and doctoral degrees in psychoanalysis from the University of Paris VIII, where Lacan taught. He is now a psychoanalyst of Chengdu Psychoanalysis Center, a member of the special Committee of Psychoanalysis of Sichuan Psychological Consultants Association, a director of the Psychoanalytic Xingzhi School (EPS), and the director of the public account "Unconscious Research".

He participated in the writing of the psychoanalytic works of professors of the seventh and eighth universities of Paris, The Clinical and Comedy of Bilinguals, and Reading Lacan in the 21st Century. Representative translations include Jung's "Red Book" and Pankov's "Dynamic Structural Treatment of Psychosis".

Chen Jinxiao

Doctor of Psychoanalysis and psychopathology, University of Paris Siedle (formerly University of Paris VII). He is now a lecturer at the Institute of Mental Health of Nanjing Xiaozhuang University, a member of the Lacan Study Group of China Psychoanalysis Professional Committee, a member of the teaching group of Psychoanalysis Xingzhi School (EPS), and the director of the public number "Dialogue Psychoanalysis" and "Hysteria Topia".

During his stay in France, he worked as an intern at the French Center for Medical and Social Psychology (CPMS) and the French Medical Center for Psychological Teaching (CMPP). His works include L 'Ambiguitede la psychose (published in France in 2022) and Born to Speak: An Introduction to Francois-Dordo's Psychoanalytic Thought. A number of papers have been included in the Chinese Social Science Citation Index (CSSCI), a key research project of the Ministry of Education.
