"Hard times are coming, and in those times we will need the voices of writers who can see a different way of life than we do now, who can see through our fear-ridden society, through its obsession with technology, who can see other paths of existence, who can even imagine the real soil of hope."
We will need writers who remember freedom -- poets, visionaries -- realists who can grasp a larger reality."

Ursula K. LeGuin (1929-2018)
American novelist, master of fantasy literature, representative of the New wave movement of science fiction, famous for the "Earthsea World" series, "Hayne Universe" series. He has won numerous awards in his lifetime, including 8 Hugo Awards, 6 Nebula Awards, 24 Trajectory Awards, and more than 200 major awards in the world literary circle, such as the National Book Award, the World Fantasy Award, and the Kafka Award. Harold Bloom listed it as a classic American literary writer. In 2000, the Library of Congress named her a "Living Legend" among writers and artists. In 2014, he received the award for Outstanding Contribution to American Literature. In 2016, The New York Times called him "the greatest contemporary American science fiction writer."
