Content introduction

One day in May 2014, Michelle received a phone call with the news that her mother had cancer and returned home to take care of her.

The daughter of a Korean mother and an American father, Michelle grew up in two cultures, but could not get close to either, and during her adolescence, she became obsessed with her musical dreams.

During their time with their mother, mother and daughter had conversations they had never had before. A few months later, her mother died, and to ease her grief, Michelle began going to an Asian supermarket that her mother frequented, trying to cook Korean food that her mother had cooked for her, and writing her own heartfelt confessions.

Struggling with the vortex of two cultures, Michelle is forced to re-examine her own identity, in this journey of love and loss, self-confirmation and pain healing, she finds the taste, language and talent her mother gave her, but also in the space constructed by food and music, let her mother "rebirth".
