关于《物托邦》，萨拉马戈说：
《物托邦》既不是一组连续的画面，也并非随随便便将几篇故事摆在一起。这本书是有规划的写作，并提出了明确的主题：反对异化——将马克思、恩格斯的名言用作本书引言绝非偶然。
作者简介
若泽·萨拉马戈(JoséSaramago,1922—2010)
萨拉马戈出身贫寒，自学成才，曾为修车工、文学编辑、记者、翻译等。
1982年，《修道院纪事》出版，时年60岁的萨拉马戈凭借此书在国际文坛声名大噪。
1995年，《失明症漫记》出版，萨拉马戈获葡萄牙语文学最高奖项卡蒙斯文学奖。
1998年，萨拉马戈荣获诺贝尔文学奖，成为葡语世界获此殊荣的第一人。诺贝尔文学奖授奖词中说：“萨拉马戈用想象力、同情心和反讽所维系的寓言，持续不断地触动我们，使我们得以再一次体悟难以捉摸的现实。”
《物托邦》是萨拉马戈文学生涯中罕见的短篇小说集，此次为中文地区首次出版。它以人的异化为主题，以超现实的思想实验为载体，洞见了在人不被当成人来对待的世界，现代人活成了“工具人”的困境。

About the author
JoseSaramago (1922-2010)
Born in poverty, Saramago was self-taught and worked as a car mechanic, literary editor, journalist, translator, etc.
In 1982, at the age of 60, Saramago became an international literary sensation with the publication of the Abbey Chronicle.
In 1995, with the publication of The book, Saramago won the Camons Literature Prize, the highest prize in Portuguese literature.
In 1998, Saramago won the Nobel Prize for Literature, becoming the first person in the Portuguese-speaking world to do so. "Saramago's fables, sustained by imagination, compassion and irony, continue to touch us, enabling us once again to grasp elusive realities," the Nobel Literature citation said.
A rare collection of short stories in Saramago's literary career, this is the first time it has been published in Chinese. It takes human alienation as the theme and surreal thought experiment as the carrier, and gives insight into the dilemma of modern people living as "tool people" in a world where people are not treated as people.
