Black and Silver tells the story of life and death, love and separation with real experiences
In Italian, black represents the man and silver represents the moon, the woman. "Black and Silver" is another masterpiece by particle physics doctor Paul Giordano that deals with love and loneliness and touches the heart since "The Loneliness of Prime Numbers." The protagonist is a socially awkward physicist who frets about renewing his university contract; His wife, Nora, is a passionate, outgoing interior designer with a warmth that pulls people out of their caves. After the nanny A who gets along for many years is sick and leaves, the family that is still harmonious on the surface begins to disintegrate virtually, the two people are no longer close to each other, and the late-night secret conversation sharing a glass of red wine becomes a memory of the past...
"For a long time I had been convinced that Nora's silver and my black were slowly merging; The same silky liquid, with a metallic sheen, will eventually flow through both of them. I was wrong. We were all wrong. Sometimes, life is like a funnel that gets narrower and narrower. The emulsion composed of emotions will gradually stratify; Nora's cheerfulness and my melancholy; Lady A's viscous firmness, and my wife's wondrous disorder; The clear mathematical reasoning I've developed over the years, and Babette's unpolished mind. Despite frequent interactions and kinship, each person is always separated from the others."
