《伤心的人》作为陈侗正式出版的第一部小说，构思源于他2018年拍摄的录像《小街风情》，书名与录像中的插曲名相同（由五条人乐队茂涛作曲并演唱）。在一个舞台式的或镜头式的画卷中，众多的人物和陈侗一样做着故作潇洒的表演：没有人比我过得更好，没有人比我过得更差。换一种说法：这是一部写给“读者”的小说，写给有过不大不小的伤心同时又无比热爱生活的你和我的小说；故事发生在书店的里面和外面，发生在小街的这头和那头，发生在城市的每一个角落——出租屋、足浴店和大排档……总之没有什么大不了的，但又好像每天都在重复发生。不过，那是在离我们不太远的过去，那时人们还会相互写信……
陈侗，1962年生于湖南宁乡，1986年至今生活并工作于广州；艺术家，博尔赫斯书店和“录像局”创办人，“实验艺术丛书”“午夜文丛”“享乐者”等丛书的策划人和编辑，贝克特、罗伯—格里耶、艾什诺兹和图森等法国“新小说”作家的推介者；2010年获法国“文学艺术骑士勋章”。

Chen Dong, born in 1962 in Ningxiang, Hunan Province, has been living and working in Guangzhou since 1986. Artist, founder of the Borges bookshop and the Video Bureau, curator and editor of the Experimental Art Series, the Midnight Literature, the Pleasers, and other books, promoter of the French "new novel" writers such as Beckett, Robert-Griet, Eshinozzi and Toussaint; In 2010, he was awarded the Chevalier des Lettres et des Arts.
